Checks and Balances
The framers of the constitution ensured that the 3 branches of the federal government wouldn't overpower each other, because of the system called Checks and Balances. Checks and Balances extends the restriction established by Separation of Power. This means that each branch has the authority and responsibility to restrain the power of the other 2 branches. This makes all the branches have equal power, instead of one branch being too powerful.
